So, since my last post I attended all the services for Kevin. I still find myself lost in thought and remembrance on our time together. At times, I notice that I'm trying to think or imagine him as being back.
His 37th Birthday was last Saturday, October 6th. I drove to the cemetery where his family placed him. It is a very nice place that is well maintained and cared for. I placed a yellow rose, for friendship, and I sang him Happy Birthday.
Others had brought him a rice cake with a candle, a crab cake, a can of Coca-Cola and also wrapped flowers. The feeling of loss was very much cemented when I saw that those other items were brought there.
Going back to work and keeping my head in the thick of being busy really helped me keep my mind off it. While I'm not shocked anymore, I'm still sad at the untimely and unfortunate loss.
